What a wonderful idea–a classical music station for kids! WBGH out of Boston has created Kids Classical Channel.

Classical New England presents a 24-hour continuous channel of classical music programs created for kids. Listen to the Kids Classical Channel and introduce the world of classical music to a young person in your life.

I just listened to “The Elves and the Shoemaker” with a classical musical soundtrack and sound effects.  (I’m listening to Massenet’s “Meditation from Thais.” Oh, now there’s a Bach Invention played on strings, rather than on a keyboard! Wonderful music selections!)

The radio host is now introducing the harp and it’s various sounds. Claude Debussy’s piece “Clair de Lune” is now played to showcase the loveliness of the harp.
