“Before I became a Christian, my idea of God was that He was hard, angry, always disappointed, and that I was nothing to Him… And then I was introduced to Jesus.
The aspect that stands out to me about Jesus is his humble being. He is God embodied in human form. He is Righteous, and yet… He washed feet, and yet He ate with sinners, and yet He touched the unclean. And yet He offers His living water to me, knowing everything I ever did. He has every reason to stand separate from me and yet He chooses to show grace. Chooses to teach grace. He poured Himself out for others physically and spiritually. So generous! He was nothing like I thought, and He brought me to my knees in awe by that alone: His beautiful, generous, grace.”

“So much comes to mind, as I have come to see Christ more clearly!
His gentleness, in studying the Matthew 11 passage.
His compassion, in the Hebrews 4-6 passages. I’ve been particularly amazed from seeing him have compassion on both the wicked and the wayward.
Also, from viewing His interactions with women as well! I’m especially moved by considering all the details of two events: the woman who washed his feet with her hair and the woman who touched the hem of His garment.

“Matthew 11: 28 – 30 especially speaks to me about the life which Jesus lived on earth. A life which did not pull away from other’s shame, the shame from the sin which they committed, nor the shame from sin committed against them. He already knows my shame and He welcomes me to come to Him! He tells me to draw near, rather than hiding his face from me or running away. There’s so much in these verses!”

“How helpful to see how the shepherd changes pastures in seeking the bits of grass within the rocks/mountains. Having horses, I see how they travel where their noses lead them to the grass. They go from blade to blade, grazing. That’s how I feel right now; searching for that next blade of grass spiritually. I love how you pointed out that the Shepherd leads us in the wilderness and provides. I have been in many wildernesses, and he ALWAYS is present and provides my every need. I think that if life were a totally “happy” time, I would not know my need of my shepherd. I am poor in spirit like a lost sheep and I need Him to find me and pull me back to safety, a safety only found in HIM.”
